Indoor Season Meets Climax

League Stats 2008/09

Boatrace Results

Held at Warwick this year, all BUTTS Universities attended the second ever BUTTS Indoor Championship.

The event saw Nottingham walk away with their first ever BUTTS Trophy, as they secure the Novice shield with a convincing score of 2001. But they were denied the double.

Warwick had a fantastic weekend, kicking off with a record breaking 2296 at the Indoor Champs to win the event, and win the League Title. They then followed this up with an impressive showing to win the boatrace title.

Overall a very sucessful event; many thanks to the organisers, David Barnes and Ian Rogers.

Also, I will take this space to note that BUTTS made an impact at the National Indoor Championship held this weekend also. Nottingham, Loughborough and Warwick all sent archers to the event. Ashleigh McCloud (Lou), Julie Chenery (War), Chris Wells (War) and George Harding (Nott) all made the head to head stages on the recurve day; Warwick also placed 3rd in teams scores. But major credits go to Phil Gover (Lou) for whom the Compound National Champs clashed with the BUTTS Indoor Champs; he made it all the way to the Semi-Finals, eventually finishing 4th Compound.
