GNAS Midsummer Tournament Invaded by Students

The weekend of the 25th-26th June hosted the Midsummer Team Tournament at Lilleshall. There was strong representation from many student teams; even if a few of the archers many have left university one or two (or ten) years ago. Teams being represented from the BUTTS league were Loughborough, Cambridge, Nottingham and Birmingham. In addition there were teams from Edinburgh and a Welsh team made up of Swansea and Bath archers with the inventive team name “Get SWWUD”. (Click below to read more)

Edinburgh Win BUCS Outdoor... again

Edinburgh win both the Experienced and Novice teams. However the top ten is still dominated by the BUTTS league with 6 of the experienced and 5 of the novice teams. In the medals BUTTS teams took 13 of the 34 medals awarded. A clean sweep was taken in gents Recurve by George Harding (Nottingham), Andrew Shreeves and Matt Dale (both Warwick), also in the longbow by Tom Goodwin (Lufbra) and James Cram (Birmingham). Lucy O'Sullivan (Trent) won the ladies compound. Also Elspeth Arthur took the Ladies novice longbow record.

Lilleshal started strangely un-windy but after a bit of rain at the second and third distance the day went well. Again thanks needs to go the the field party, scoring team and the tournament organiser Ashleigh McCloud. Special thanks must be given to Phil King (Ex Warwick) for acting as head judge at very short notice (about 40 minutes).
