Birmingham Win the Outdoor Championships

On a very sunny and breezy day BUTTS Outdoor was an eventful shoot. With a boss blown over (luckily nothing was damaged), a longbow exploding and pausing shooting for a helicopter to land in the field made for in eventful shoot.

Birmingham had a very good day winning the Experienced team, 3rd in Novice teams and 5 gold individual gold medals. Warwick won the Novice team. League records were made by George Harding (Nottingham) for the gents recurve, Ellie Dyson (Trent)for the ladies recurve and Chris Tombe (Birmingham) for gents compound. Dan Cross and John Hodgson established records for Novice compound and Novice barebow respectively.

The BUTTS league AGM was also held and Chris Guerin as been elected BUTTS Organiser for the next year. Steven Johnson will now retire from the position he has held for 3 years, we will all be deeply saddened by him leaving but we will be continuing as Chair of BUCS Archery.
